Since the beginning of my career as an artist in the early 1980’s, I’ve been fascinated by paint’s sensual, tactile qualities, by the countless ways of applying it, and by the varied responses that a painted surface can evoke. Working continuously since then, both in the decorative painting field and in the studio as a fine artist, I’ve come to see how intriguingly entwined these three aspects of painting are.

Early in my career, I was fortunate to work directly with master painters from around the world, and to have been exposed to an extensive range of painting materials and techniques. At the same time, living in New York City, I had the chance to visit its great museums and galleries frequently.

Both of these experiences have led to my work (or my ‘play’?!) as a fine art painter where I continue to explore and experiment with the material and stylistic possibilities of paint - and to find inspiration from art history and the world around me.
